Payal Parekh

Payal S. Parekh is a New York-based art advisor, yoga teacher and reiki master with a passion for promoting wellness and diverse art perspectives.

As a 500-hour nationally certified yoga teacher, Payal believes in the power of movement and meditation to improve physical and mental health. Her new self-care deck, Blessed Rest by Payal, offers tools for self-reflection and self-care practices to manage stress. Payal has led meditation sessions at Christie’s, David Zwirner Gallery, The Armory Show, Perrotin New York and The Baltimore Museum of Art.

In addition, she has served on the board of the American Visionary Art Museum and is currently a member of the Skowhegan Council and an FCA Friend (Foundation for Contemporary Arts) in New York.

Payal Arts International, founded in 2008, focuses on consulting artists and advising collectors. Payal holds a BA in Art History from Mount Holyoke College 2001 and an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute, London. She was raised in Baltimore, Maryland.

Blessed Rest: Healing Through Movement, Mindfulness & Community

Payal offers healing sessions centered around her original 53-card self-care deck, Blessed Rest by Payal™, designed to support intuitive and sustainable wellness practices. These 60-minute sessions include gentle stretching, guided meditation, personal contemplation, and group discussion. Each class is tailored to meet the needs of participants and is open to all experience levels.

Created during the pandemic as a gentle source of support, Blessed Rest by Payal™ features 40 aphorisms, 5 action cards, and 5 breathwork cards to encourage rest, reflection, and renewal. The deck serves as a guide for building a daily self-care practice that honors each person’s unique path to balance and healing.

Payal believes in the transformative power of movement and mindfulness to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Her approach invites participants to reconnect with themselves through simple, meaningful practices.

DISCUSS – Community connection
