How do you understand the concept of Higher Self? What does this spiritual idea mean to you, and how connected do you feel to your own Higher Self on a daily basis? This week, we’ve been talking about this at length in my Akashic Records Certification Program.
When it comes down to it, many of us define Higher Self as:
- the wiser, unconditionally loving, non-judgmental aspect of us
- our inner Divinity and inner light
- our direct connection to Divine Source energy
- a kind, loving, and caring protector (like a loving parent) who helps us stay on the most highly aligned path for us
- the part of us that’s beyond ego and beyond human attachments
- the most deeply intuitive part of us, that can send us messages and helpful clues along our path
Of course, because we still ARE incarnated in human bodies, we don’t always experience a clear, effortless, unwavering connection to this highest aspect of us.
We’re not always able to navigate the world (or even our own inner worlds of thought and emotion) from this place of wisdom, non-judgment, detachment, and grace.
Sometimes, we find ourselves swimming in more turbulent waters… like the waters of frustration, impatience, resentment, fear, or the general discombobulation we may sometimes experience as humans.
All of this is ok, too.
It’s ok – and a really good thing – to notice when you’ve separated yourself from the perspective, wisdom, and loving nature of your Higher Self.
Noticing this separation, this rift, is the first key step in steadying those turbulent waters, finding your footing, and reconnecting to your highest aspects.
To support you in this process, I want to share 3 questions that can help you embody your Higher Self more deeply, more of the time.
You can use these over and over, as needed.
QUESTION 1: How much room am I making in my physical body for my Higher Self to drop in right now?
Your human body is the physical vessel through which your Higher Self can be expressed.
If you “fill up” your body with tension, with fear, with worries about the future or the past, with judgment of self or others, with scattered and ego-based thoughts… there’s barely any room for your Higher Self to drop in.
So this question is about examining what you’re allowing to reside and take up space in your body, right now.
Are you filling your body and mind with thoughts, habits, vibrations, and types of nourishment that are CONDUCIVE to your Higher Self dropping in… or are they REPELLING your Higher Self and making it really hard for this wiser aspect to reside within you?
QUESTION 2: What must I release to create more room for my Higher Self in my body and in my life?
Here, we follow up to our first question by exploring what must be released.
Of those habits, thoughts, patterns, or vibrations that are NOT conducive or welcoming to your Higher Self, which can you begin to drop now?
Also consider – which are the situations, places, relationships, and/or attachments in your life that prevent you from feeling most connected to your Higher Self?
Some of these may need to change, or be surrendered with love.
QUESTION 3: How can I express my Higher Self in my life today?
Our last question, which can be asked daily, is about shifting into a place of aligned action – where you are not only connected to your Higher Self for your own benefit, but also so you can live out your Soul’s purpose for the greatest good of ALL concerned.
Asking this question every morning – in a state of quiet and stillness – can be a sacred act of service and alignment.
Stay open to receiving the answer immediately, or for the answer to come later in your day or week.
How are you meant to embody your Higher Self today, for the benefit of ALL?
Follow the guidance that intuitively comes to you, from your heart. If you do, the world within you and the world around you will be transformed.
